Meet Chamar

The answer is simple. I am fed up. October 7th changed the world, it certainly changed mine. My roots are in activism, I have been blessed to have lunch with Angela Davis, Bobby Seale (co-founder. of the Black Panther Party) raised on Malcolm X, Million Man March, educated extensively on the Civil Rights Movement from people who were on the front lines. Yet at some point I still fell into the trap of Capitalism. It became more important to look pretty, have luxury items, always chase the bag. This kind of life lulls you into a dream like state of fake freedom and comfortability.

I believe that this is exactly where our government wants us. A government’s greatest asset is a nation of people who will not collectively question or push back. Add to that, I was raised as a preachers kid by church leaders who prefer I do not push back or question authority, now when it came to that, I take great joy in pushing back, but I was still sleeping in other areas. . At some point, that was no longer going to work. October 7th was that point. As I watched the world at large, as I watched the church world demonize Arabs and Muslims, in my gut I knew something was wrong. As I began to watch what was happening in Palestine, then the Congo and listen to western responses I realized…black people in American have seen this before and in a lot of ways we are still fighting against the same system that is actively wiping out a nation of black and brown bodies. Our ancestors fought against apartheid but it was titled as Jim Crow. We are still having to fight against the militarization of police, police that are trained by the same Israeli forces wiping out a nation. I am watching black children mine resources in the most inhumane, unethical ways in the Congo, because western nations have destabilized the region to choke it of it’s resources. I began to learn that BILLIONS of our tax dollars is funding the Israeli state (who has free healthcare & education) and the destabilization of other countries. While I am fighting for more asthma medication, millions of Americans are facing a housing crisis, medical apartheid and our government is NOT listening to us! Many religious leaders (I am a ministry leader that has had to go head to head with others) are backing and empowering a murderous government backed by U.S. Tax dollars. We are being arrested for protesting, censored for speaking out, while struggling to excel under an aristocratic democracy/dictatorship that will use human lives as chess pieces to gain money and power. The veil has been lifted, enough is enough! TEAR IT ALL DOWN! And if we can’t dismantle these systems then we oppose them every chance we get and become as independent form them as we can. Biblically we are taught that one can chase a thousand and two shall chase ten thousand. We are stronger together! Welcome to the collective!
